Cindy Sue Sanderson, 68, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 8, 2020. She had kidney issues that were complicated after getting COVID.
She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, cooking, and attending activities with friends and family. Her favorite jobs were assistant manager at a restaurant, receptionist and radio announcer for Joy 88 in Topeka, and raising purebred poodles and yorkies. Her Christian faith was central to her life and she served as a missionary in Haiti and Mexico as well as at various local churches she attended over the years. She liked volunteering at clothing and food banks, contributing to bake sales, working at Christmas giveaways, and was serving on the Golden Bell Haven board.
Cindy was born November 20, 1952 to Roy and Freda Blake in Columbus, OH.
She is survived by her daughter, April (Steven) Benne, and grandchildren Cheneal, Ethan, Leah, Paisley, and Ezra Benne. Siblings Dan Blake, Jo Ann Rosshirt, and Bill Blake.
She is preceded in death by her husband Douglas Sanderson, parents Roy and Freda Blake and brother David Blake.
The family will have a private burial at Valley Cemetery. As much as Cindy would have enjoyed all her loved ones to gather, she would not want to risk possible exposure at this time.
