William H. Holloway, died Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at the Republic County Hospital, Belleville, at the age of 78. He was born May 18, 1938 on his family’s farm southeast of Narka, Kansas to Vearl O. and Tillie P. (Vocasek) Holloway.
He attended Round Grove country school and Narka High School graduating with the Class of 1957.
On September 18, 1960, William was united in marriage to Lorene Joy at the Presbyterian Church, in Narka.
He was a lifetime farmer and rancher in the Narka community.
He was a member of the Narka Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder for several years.
He served with the Kansas Army National Guard from 1958-1963.
He was called to active duty during the Berlin crisis in 1961.
His Hobbies included hunting, fishing, woodworking, restoration projects, and most of all he enjoyed helping others.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Richard, Brother, Benny Holloway.
Survivors include his wife Lorene of the home, a son, David Holloway (Lisa) of Cuba; a daughter, Diane Gloeb (Geoff), Fremont, NE.; 2 grandsons, Eliott and Addison Gloeb both of Fremont, NE.; 2 step-grandchildren, Sarah Lehman (Nick) and their children, McKennon, Briscoe, and Pistol of Clay Center, KS.; Tyler Kolman and fiance’ Britta and their children, Damon, Kelan and Ainsley of Cuba.
Funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian Church, Narka, at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, January 21, 2017.
Burial will follow at the National Cemetery, Narka, Kansas with Pastor Phil Goombi officiating.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 20, 2017, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family being present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
