Steven Awalt

Steven G. Awalt was born on March 2, 1954, the son of LeRoy and Fredda (Morgan) Awalt, and passed away on January 15, 2022, at the age of 67 years, 10 months and 13 days.

He married the love of his life, Rona Thomas, on July 14, 1973, and to this union, three children were born, Heather, Shawn and Kyle. Steve was very much a family man, and held his family above all else. Steve enjoyed all things outdoors; he spent his younger years hunting, trapping and fishing, hobbies that he continued throughout his life. His occupations of farming and land excavation went hand in hand with his love of the land and outdoors. He loved stormy weather and embraced the turbulence, rather than hiding from it.

He is leaving behind his wife of 48 years, daughter Heather (Micaah), sons Shawn (Karla) and Kyle (Savanna), grandchildren Wade, Bayleigh, Stacia, Jaden, Trevor, Aidan, Kellner, Layna, Stevie, Emilyne, Vesper, three great grandchildren, sister Mitch Awalt of Arizona, and brother Sam Awalt of Kentucky.

Welcoming him to his heavenly home are grandchildren Warren & Elliot Awalt, parents Fredda & LeRoy Awalt, in laws Don & Frances Thomas, his grandparents, and a host of family and friends.

A family & friends Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, January 25th, 2022, at 2:00 pm, at the Norway Community Gym.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Republic Co. Museum or the Pike Valley Foundation, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
