Stella Louise Day, 80, of Belleville, Kansas formerly of Haddam, Kansas passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at the Republic County Hospital. Stella was born October 26, 1929 on the family farm near Haddam to August and Zola (Congleton) Zenger. After graduating from Haddam High School in 1947, she attended Fairbury Junior College receiving her teaching certificate. Stella taught the third grade at Belleville Elementary School from 1956 through 1959. She was united in marriage to Lloyd Day on February 4, 1959 in Fairbury, Nebraska. Stella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lloyd in 1983; brothers John and Harold Zenger; and sisters Martha Wilson and Letha Pischer. She will be forever remembered by her four daughters, Sherry Day, Belleville, Kansas, Amy Nobert and husband Mark, Olathe, Kansas, Kara Lerret and husband Tom, Solomon, Kansas, and Lisa Grove and husband Dewayne, Belleville. She will be missed greatly by her grandchildren Jonathan & Genesis Bennett, Eric Nobert, Krista Nobert, Brody, Colton, and Dylan Grove, and Gabrielle Lerret; great granddaughters, Zoey & Eden Bennett. She is also survived by her sisters, Ida Woodward, Independence, Missouri, Twila Stoker, Morrowville, Kansas, and Linda Corbin, Kentucky; her brothers, Keith Zenger and wife Betty, Cuba, Kansas, Larry Zenger and wife Leila, and Willard Zenger and wife Cheryl all of Haddam; many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Friday, September 24, 2010 at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas with Pastor Wendell Sack officiating. Inurnment was in the Haddam City Cemetery. A memorial will be established at a later date.
