Robert (Bob) Lynn Pugh, age 62 of Belleville, KS passed from life Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Republic County Hospital in Belleville, KS. Bob was born January 27, 1952 son of Eldon & Carol (Gleason) Pugh, at Red Cloud, NE. He was a 1970 graduate of Belleville High School. Bob was involved in the cattle industry throughout his life; the last 16 years being employed by National Beef as a fat cattle buyer. Bob was united in marriage to Kathy (Craig) on March 30, 1985 in Cuba, KS. They have 2 daughters, 2 son-in-laws, & 6 grandchildren; Kasey Frost and husband Richard of Baldwin City, KS and their children Macey, Merrin, Kyan, and Kreyton and Kelly McCauley and husband Matt of Holton, KS and their children Miles and Carter. Bob loved life. He lived every day to the fullest, knew no stranger, and touched many people's lives. He loved telling stories & making people laugh. He also loved the sport of rodeo & team roping. He spent many evenings and weekends in an arena, forging a "brotherhood" with the other cowboys. They are more than friends, they are forever family. Bob won numerous team roping awards throughout his rodeo days, including the United Rodeo Association in 1974, the United States Team Roping Championship in Broken Bow, NE in 1999, and the Sahara Classic in Columbus, NE in 2004. Bob began passing his love of rodeo on to his true love, his family, when he slowed down his own team roping endeavors. From 1985-1994 he traveled many miles with Kathy and the girls as they competed in the Kansas High School Rodeos. Bob's cowboy wisdom, support, & guidance meant the world to his 2 girls. He continued sharing the cowboy way as each grandchild joined the ranks. Boopa spent many hours teaching, storytelling, and cheering them on. He was and will always be their biggest fan! Bob is preceded in death by his mother, Carol Pugh and great niece, Shaylynn Morey. He is survived by his father Eldon, Belleville, KS; sisters Lynda and husband Terrill LaClef of El Dorado, KS, Carolyn Frankamp of Belleville, KS and Stevie and husband Ron Swiercinsky of Belleville, KS; mother-in-law JoAnn Walker and husband Tom of Talmo, KS; many other relatives and friends too numerous to count. Funeral services were held Tuesday December 16, 2014 at the American Lutheran Church in Belleville, KS. With The Reverend Thomas Kamparath officiating.
