Paul Haase

Paul F. Haase, age 58, died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 16, 2017. He was born on April 27, 1958 to H. James and Marilyn Haase and lived nearly his entire life in Belleville, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents. Paul graduated from Belleville High School. He worked for the Belleville Telescope for more than 35 years, learning every aspect of the newspaper business from the Miller family. He was most commonly seen behind the camera lens at sporting events or photographing the impact of natural disasters in Republic County. He also volunteered as the Assistant Director of Emergency Management for Republic County. He deeply appreciated the high school marching band, traveling with them on several occasions to parades. He loved photographing high school basketball games and the Midget Nationals car races in Belleville each summer. Paul is survived by his three siblings: Steve Haase of Lawrence, KS; Mark Haase and wife, Judy, of Blue Springs, MO; and Jennifer Haase Morris and husband, Paul, of Whidbey Island, WA; nephew Shea Haase and wife, Ashley, of Lenexa, KS (Asher and Willow); and niece Alyssa Haase of Lawrence, KS.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, Belleville with the Reverend Paul Morris officiating. Paul’s family greeting friends prior at 11:30 am and a reception after the service. The family will have a private burial in the Belleville City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Republic County High School Marching Band in care of the family (Jennifer Morris: 296 Alderwood St., Coupeville, WA 98239) or funeral home.
