Myrna M. Joy was born on October 18, 1928, the daughter of Henry F. & Ella Mae (King) Novak. Myrna was born near Narka, and graduated from Narka High School, class of 1946.

Myrna was united in marriage to Wesley Vaughn Joy on June 28, 1951, in Belleville, and to this union of 24 years, four sons were born.

She was an avid sports fan, following her grandchildren’s sports as they were growing up, and she was a fan of the Royals, Chiefs, Wildcats and Jayhawks. Myrna enjoyed attending Belleville High School sports.

Myrna passed away on April 1, 2021, in Belleville, at the age of 92 years, 5 months and 14 days.

Myrna is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wesley Joy in 1975, and brother Kenneth Novak.

She will be forever remembered by her sons, Evan (wife Mary) of Downs; Allen (wife Jana) of Topeka; Bryan (wife Cindy) of Manhattan, Sylvan (partner William) of Overland Park. Myrna is also survived by her grandchildren; Julie, Jenny, Jama, Jody, Krista, Jason, Shawn, Brigham, Miranda, Wesley, Hillary, Gillian and Margaret, and her 25 great grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, April 8th, 2021, at 1:30 p.m., at the Belleville Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service, from 11:30 to 1:30, at the church.

Memorials are requested to the RCHS Booster Club or Belleville Meals on Wheels, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
