Lucille Marie Novak was born on June 26, 1934, on the family farm near Levasy, Missouri, to Edward and Adeline (Gausmann) Schemmer. She passed away on July 5, 2024, in Fairbury, Nebraska, at the age of 90 years and 9 days.
Lucille graduated from Levasy High School and then attended business college. She married Charley G. Novak on March 19, 1957, in Oak Grove, Missouri, and to this union two sons were born.
Lucille and Charley lived on the family farm west of Narka for most of their life. She worked as a tax preparer and drove a school bus for the Hillcrest school district from 1976 – 2008.
Lucille was baptized on August 16, 1942, and dedicated her life to doing Jehovah’s will. Her favorite scripture passage was Revelations 21, 3-4, “He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.”
Lucille is survived by her two sons, Charles (Rebekah) of Munden, Kansas, and Keith (Jan) of Chilhowie, Virginia; granddaughter Emily, grandson Dylan (Morgan) of Rogersville, Tennessee, great-granddaughter Eternity, and a soon to be born great-grandson Jack Novak. She is also survived by her brother Roger Schemmer of Two Harbors, Minnesota; her sister Laverne Bueur of Buckner, Missouri, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Charley Novak, and brother Dale Schemmer.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at Kingdom Hall in Belleville, Kansas. A private family burial will be held at Tabor Cemetery, rural Munden, Kansas, at a later date.
