June Loydene (Spradley) Boyer, 78, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Salina Regional Health Center. She was born in Tecumseh, Nebraska on June 23, 1941, the eighth of nine children, and fifth daughter, to Claud and Dorothy (Pabst) Spradley.
June graduated from Hebron High School in 1959, and attended Commercial Business School in Omaha. She moved to Lincoln in 1961 and worked at Midwest Life Insurance Company.
On June 2, 1962 she was married to Eldon Boyer in Hebron, Nebraska. To this union four children were born.
In 1963 June and Eldon moved to Belleville, Kansas. In 1976 she went to work at Republic County Hospital as a ward clerk. She retired in September of 2006. She enjoyed being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her hobbies were bowling, reading, puzzles, and all things Elvis. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s many activities. She was an avid sports fan, particularly the Huskers and Royals.
June was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Claud Spradley, her brothers John Spradley (Dorothy), Russell Spradley (Nancy), and Larry Spradley, and sisters Donita Brennan (Keith), Fern Hughes (Larry), Janice Eldredge, and nephew Terry Spradley.
She is survived by her husband Eldon, son Brad Boyer (Jill) of Belleville, Kansas; daughter Becky Snavely (Bob) of Liberty, Missouri; daughter Bonny Angell (Jake) of Shawnee, Kansas; and son Bobby Boyer of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren Alexandria, Brody, Hannah, Rylan, and Leah. She is also survived by sisters Hope Brennan (Delmar) of Lincoln, and Carol Nicholson of Bozeman, MT. June is also survived by many other family members, and a community of friends.
Visitation will be Monday, February 10, 2020, from 1:00-4:00 pm at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home in Belleville, with Rosary and Vigil Service following at 6:00 pm at St. Edward Catholic Church, in Belleville. The family will greet friends at the Sacred Heart Center (parish hall) following the rosary service.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday February 11, 2020, at 10:00 am, at St. Edward Catholic Church in Belleville, with Father Henry Baxa officiating, burial following at Belleville City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital to benefit the Hematology and Oncology Units, and may be sent in care of Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home.
