A COME & GO GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO CELEBRATE JUBILIE'S LIFE.
Jubilie Rae Sothers, the daughter of Richard Sothers and Virgene Jensen, was born August 4, 1974 in Belleville, KS. She passed away at her home in Courtland, KS surrounded by loved ones, on September 8, 2017 at the age of 43.
Jubilie graduated from Pike Valley High School in 1992. She worked as a C.N.A. and received her nail technician certificate. She made Superior, NE her home for most of her adult life.
Family and friends knew Jubilie as a strong, independent woman. This was proven even further in 2012 when she was diagnosed with brain cancer. After several surgeries and radiation, her strong will prevailed when she returned to work while raising her youngest son as a single mother. When her cancer relapsed again in 2016, she underwent more surgeries, radiation and chemo. Her strength and resilience made it possible for her to persevere and meet her grandson, whom she loved and adored.
Jubilie’s motto was ‘It is what it is’. She accepted what life gave her but by no means did she ever give up. She made the best of every situation, had a strong work ethic, and lived life to the fullest.
Jubilie will forever be remembered by her sons, Daltan Boyer of Manhattan, KS and Drake Totten of Windsor, CO; grandson, Hayden Boyer of Manhattan, KS; mother, Virgene (Jensen) Andries of Denver, CO; father, Richard Sothers (Eloise) of Ozark, AR; sisters Kim Mueller (Steve) of Clifton, KS, Melanie Lindberg (Richard) of Courtland, KS, Sandra Long (Tim) of Owasso, OK; brothers Robert Robbins (Michelle) of Denver, CO, Dean Robbins (Benetta) of Coppell, TX; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jubilie’s request was for direct cremation. A family gathering in her memory will be held at a later time. Memorials may be made to Solomon Valley Hospice or the family’s choice. Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas assisted her family with these arrangements.
