Joyce Jennie Hill passed away peacefully in her home on her 86 th birthday, November 27, 2014 in Scottsdale, Arizona. She was born November 27, 1928 in Belleville, Kansas to John and Bessie (Goodwin) Douglas. She will be forever remembered by her husband of 67 years, James Hill, and son Douglas James Hill both residing in Scottsdale; her daughter Barbara (Darold) Longhofer and their children Stacey and Jeremy Longhofer of Overland Park, Kansas; brother Kenneth (Shirley) Douglas of Macon, Missouri; sister-in-law Sherry Hill, Belleville, Kansas; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Marjorie Campbell, Dorothy Hooker, Helen Lane Clark; and brother Max Douglas. Joyce was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and active with her husband hosting many GM Dealers, as well as past president of the GM Executive Wives Club. She was a talented seamstress, licensed cosmetologist, avid gardener, and could name each bird by hearing its song. Joyce found her purpose in caring for her family and doing for others, reflecting God’s grace, kindness and unconditional love. She experienced great JOY in the simple pleasures of life; spending time with her family, tending to her roses, delighting in her hummingbirds, and enjoying the blessings of each day. Through any difficulty she encountered, her faith did not waiver as she maintained an attitude of gratitude. Just as she soared high above the earth in a hot air balloon or when she turned 80 and realized another wish as she skydived with her grandson, she now soars with the angels and is tending to God’s rose garden in Heaven. She will be forever remembered lovingly by her family and friends! “Well done thou good and faithful servant…!”
