Gerald Lohnes

Gerald “Jerry” P. Lohnes was born June 22, 1931 to Thornton and Vera (Fitzgerald) Lohnes at Ness City, Kansas. He passed from this life Thursday, May 15, 2014 at his home in Formoso, Kansas. Jerry graduated from Hutchinson High School with the Class of 1951. He was immediately drafted into the United States Army and served during the Korean War, 1952 to 1954. Following his honorable discharge, Jerry returned home and attended Hutchinson Jr. College and later graduated from Emporia State College with Bachelor of Science degree in Business. He worked most of his life as an Accountant, first with Beech Aircraft and later had his own business as a tax accountant and keeping books for several individuals and businesses. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; beloved daughter Laura; and brother Clair Lohnes. He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Hanshaw) Lohnes of their home; son J.P.  (Jill) Lohnes, Velva, ND; daughter Linda (Gary) Spear, Wichita; step-daughter Jeanne (Todd) Krenke, Bartlesville, OK; step-son Greg Nespor, Junction City, KS; brother Bill (Ella) Lohnes, Port St. Lucie, FL; sisters Jane (Wes) Burrow, Hutchinson, June (Dave) Holoubek, Wichita Falls, TX, and Marjorie (Richard) Jones, FL. He is also survived by sisters & brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Jerry loved life and will be remembered forever by his wife Dorothy and the rest of his family.
