Genevieve Pearl Johnson, 93, was born the only child of Enoch and Mabel (Nelson) Hedin on February 5, 1926. She passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019, at the Belleville Health Care Center in Belleville, Kansas.
Genevieve attended Bollen Grade School, and graduated from Courtland High School in 1943. She married Dewey Johnson on May 9, 1945, and to this union, two daughters were born, Kristi and Marlys.
She started her banking career at the Swedish American State Bank in Courtland, Kansas, First National Bank in Concordia, Kansas, and Randall Bank in Randall, Kansas, where she served as president for many years, retiring in 1988.
Genevieve was a member of Ada Lutheran Church, rural Courtland, where she served several terms as Financial Secretary.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dewey of 69 years, and an infant grandson, Jason Carl Reinke.
She will be forever remembered by daughters Kristi Wallin and her husband Donald of Lenexa, Kansas, and Marlys Reinke and her husband Howard of Byron, Nebraska. Grandchildren Rachel (Rob) Myers of Lenexa, Kansas; Justin (Jaala) Wallin of Stillwater, Oklahoma; Clay (Bethany) Wallin of Courtland, Kansas; Stuart (Diana) Reinke of Byron, Nebraska, Jason Reinke of Byron, Nebraska and Amber Livasy of Fremont, Nebraska; several great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter; nieces, nephews, cousin Chris Garst, and a host of friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 28, 2019, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with family greeting friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home in Belleville.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, July 29, 2019, at 10:30 a.m, at the Ada Lutheran Church, rural Courtland, with Al Urich, PMA, officiating. Burial will follow in the Ada Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Ada Lutheran Church.
