Emily Boyer

Emily Faye Boyer, daughter of Lodis and Emma (Fisher) Kopsa, was born June 4, 1939 in Cuba, Kansas. She grew up in the Cuba area, attending local schools and graduating from Cuba High School. Proud of her Czech heritage, she was involved in many of the local festivities throughout the years.  Emily was a nursing assistant at the Republic County Hospital facility for many years. 1n 1987 she married Eddie Boyer, Sr. and became a step mother to his children; Janet, Jane, Penny, Eddie Jr. and their children, and Belleville became her home. Emily and Eddie had wonderful life as they were involved with various activities in the Belleville community.

Emily passed from this life Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the Republic County Hospital in Belleville at the age of 80 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother Marvin and infant sister Lillie; brothers Ben and Clarence Kopsa; sisters Lorene Simek and Elsie Lawson.

She will be remembered by Eddie’s children Janet Anderson, Jane Merritt, Penny Close, and Eddie Boyer, Jr., and all their families; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas, with burial following in St. Katherine’s Cemetery east of Belleville. Viewing will be Tuesday, October 8 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials should be made to the Republic County Hospital, and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home assisted the Boyer family with these arrangements.
