Elizabeth Almira Waldron, age 82 of Republic, Kansas, was born May 8, 1934 at Homer, New York, the daughter of Jay and Edith (Pittsley) Lansdowne, one of fourteen children. She passed away suddenly Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at her home in Republic. Elizabeth grew up in New York and worked for the manufacturing division of Smith Corona. She moved to Kansas in the summer of 1984 and made the community of Republic, Kansas her home since that time. She enjoyed her flower gardens, especially her beautiful roses. She also was an avid collector of hand bells. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers. She will be forever remembered by her children: Wilma (Richard) Jacobs, Republic, Nancy (Ben) Finton, New York, Timothy (Connie) Waldron and David (Pat) Waldron both of Hastings, Nebraska; several grandchildren; sisters Edith Bonita Dewy and Janice Lansdowne; brothers Ray, Richard, Roy, and Howard Lansdowne; sister-in-law Florence Lansdowne; other relatives and friends. Elizabeth’s wishes were for direct cremation services. Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas was in charge of these arrangements.
