David Lewis Trecek of Agenda, the son of Louis and Mildred (Shindler) Trecek, was born August 30, 1944, in Belleville, Kansas, and passed away on November 28, 2019, at Park Villa Nursing Home in Clyde, KS, at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 29 days.
David graduated from Agenda Rural High School with the class of 1962. He farmed and raised cattle, and was a lifelong resident of the Agenda area.
On September 26, 1965, in Clyde, Kansas, he was united in marriage to Marilyn I. Junek, and to this union four children were born, Bret, Angela, Kevin and Amanda. David and Marilyn celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary in September 2019.
David enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and collected Allis-Chalmers tractors. He belonged to the Elk Creek Riders Saddle Club, and rode bulls at some rodeos. He bought a 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle, and kept it all his life. In 2015, he restored it for their 50th wedding anniversary. He was on the Hillcrest School Board, Willoughby Cemetery Board, and was a special Sheriff’s deputy for area festivals. He was also a member of the Belleville Masonic Lodge, and ISIS Shrine of Salina, Kansas.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn of home, son Bret Trecek and his wife Melinda of Concordia, Kansas; daughter Angela Becker and her husband Jason of Herington, Kansas, and son Kevin Trecek of home. David is also survived by his grandchildren Tanner and Tate Becker, and Lauren, Katelyn and Shea Trecek; sisters Ruth Stewart of Polk City, Iowa; Peggy Latta and her husband Brad of Osborne, Kansas; brothers Millard Trecek and his wife Glenda of Agenda, Perry Trecek and his wife Linda of Agenda; brother in law Dennis Houdek of Newton, Kansas; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
David is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Amanda in 1987, sister Anita Houdek, brother Duane Trecek and brother in law Jay Stewart.
Cremation was chosen, there will be no viewing. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 5th, from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, where family will greet friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, December 6th, 2019, at 10:30 am, at the Community Center in Cuba. Masonic Services will be conducted by the Belleville Masonic Lodge No. 129, A.F. & A.M. Inurnment will occur at a later date at the National Bohemian Cemetery, rural Cuba.
Memorials are requested to the Family’s Choice to be designated at a later date, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
