Clifford Odette

Clifford Leon Odette, son of Henry and Verna Odette, was born May 5, 1920 on a farmstead near Clyde, Kansas. On December 22, 1936 he was united in marriage to Bonnie Chartier.  She passed away November 2, 1994. Leon enjoyed people and working with his hands.  He was a "jack of all trades".  He spent many winters in Texas enjoying the warmth. He married Helen Rhine in 1995 and they continued to travel. Leon was adventurous; he lived in 26 different homes and remodeled most of them!  He also owned 38 different vehicles!! Leon passed from this life on October 22, 2014 at the age of 94 years.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 grandson, Kevin Zenger and 1 brother.  He is survived by his wife Helen (Rhine) Odette, Belleville; 2 daughters, Janice Zenger of Haddam, KS and Sue Fischer of Kansas City.  Grandchildren Pam Buehler & husband Robert, Mike Tuma & wife PJ, Michele Peroo & husband Michael;  step grandchildren Kirk & Craig Fischer.;  great grandchildren Jana Buehler, Brandon & wife Melissa Buehler, Jordan & wife Mindy Tuma, Ryan & Nathan Peroo; great, great grandchildren Emersyn, daughter of Shae Tuma and Blair, daughter of Brandon & Melissa Buehler, which gave Leon 5 generations twice. Leon was a member of the Cuba American Legion and was a veteran of World War II. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home in Belleville, Kansas.  Burial was in the Haddam City Cemetery with military rites presented by William Fleming American Legion Post No. 345 of Cuba, Kansas. These arrangements were in charge of Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home.
