Caleb Anselmo Colon was born on September 4, 2000, in Belleville, Kansas, the son of Anselmo “Junior” and Angela “Angie” Marie (Ritterbush) Colon. Caleb grew up in Belleville, and attended Belleville / Republic County schools.
Caleb worked for Gerena Construction of Wichita. In his free time, he enjoyed playing video games, spending time outdoors fishing and camping, and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his son, Silas.
Caleb passed away on March 3, 2021, at the age of 20 years, 5 months, and 27 days.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard Ritterbush.
He will be forever remembered by his parents, Junior and Angie of Belleville, son Silas Anselmo Colon, brother Cody Cherney and his fiancé Casey Freed of Belleville, brother Colten Tuma of Kansas City, Missouri, sister Clara Colon of Belleville, and his girlfriend Ashley Jensen of Belleville. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother Carol (Parde) Williams and Mike Buck, paternal grandmother Anna Mae Colon, great-grandma Virginia Williams, uncle Sam Gerena and his wife Lorna and their children Rachel and Ryleigh Gerena and Rebecca Hayes, uncle Gene Gerena and his son Tony, aunt Alicia Birney and her sons Evan & Tyler Warta, aunt Carmen Cruz, aunt Sonia Erkenbrack and her husband Brett and their sons Blake and Drew; aunt Rachel Engel and her husband Dave and their daughters Hanna Engel and Amanda Wulf and her husband Dusty; Richie Ritterbush and his son Keaton; and aunt Sher’rie Balderston and her husband Troy and their daughters Brenna & Becca Balderston. Caleb is also survived by his many friends.
A Celebration of Caleb’s life will be Saturday, April 3rd, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., at the Belleville Wesleyan Church, with Pastor Mark McGregor officiating.
Visitation will be Friday, April 2nd, 2021, from 9:00 am – 7:00 pm at the funeral home, where the family will greet friends from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
Memorials are requested to the Caleb Colon Memorial, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
